1️⃣ The Wisdom Behind Zakat Al-Fitr
الحكمة من زكاة الفطر
Zakat Al-Fitr was prescribed to purify the fasting person from any mistakes, idle talk, or shortcomings that may have occurred during Ramadan. It also helps support the poor and needy so they can share in the joy of Eid Al-Fitr. By giving Zakat Al-Fitr, Muslims strengthen the sense of compassion, social responsibility, and unity within the community.

2️⃣ Evidence from the Sunnah
الدليل من السنة
Zakat Al-Fitr is established in the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
It was narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar that:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made Zakat Al-Fitr obligatory as one Sa’a of dates or one Sa’a of barley upon every Muslim—free or slave, male or female, young or old—and he commanded that it be given before the people go out for the Eid prayer.
This hadith shows that Zakat Al-Fitr is obligatory upon every Muslim who has the ability to give it.

3️⃣ Difference Between Zakat and Zakat Al-Fitr
الفرق بين الزكاة وزكاة الفطر
Zakat Al-Fitr is different from the annual Zakat (Zakat Al-Mal).
Zakat Al-Fitr
Zakat Al-Mal
Given at the end of Ramadan
Given once a year
Fixed amount of food
Based on wealth
Purifies fasting
Purifies wealth
Given before Eid prayer
Given anytime during the year
Both forms of charity play an important role in helping the poor and strengthening the Muslim community.

4️⃣ Can Zakat Al-Fitr Be Given as Money?
هل يجوز إخراجها مالاً؟
Many scholars state that the original form of Zakat Al-Fitr is food, as it was practiced during the time of the Prophet ﷺ. However, some scholars allow giving its value in money if it is more beneficial for the poor, especially in modern contexts where money may help them meet their needs more easily.
Muslims are encouraged to follow the guidance of trusted scholars and local fatwas in their community.

5️⃣ Benefits of Zakat Al-Fitr for Society
فوائد زكاة الفطر للمجتمع
Zakat Al-Fitr brings many benefits, including:
Helping the poor and needy
Strengthening social solidarity
Spreading happiness on Eid day
Teaching generosity and gratitude
Reminding Muslims of their responsibility toward others

6️⃣ Common Mistakes People Make
أخطاء شائعة في زكاة الفطر
Some common mistakes include:
Delaying it until after the Eid prayer
Giving less than the required amount
Giving it to people who are not eligible
Forgetting to give it on behalf of dependents
To ensure that Zakat Al-Fitr is valid, it should be given at the correct time and to the correct recipients.
