Getting Started

Start here if you are new to Firdaws Academy.

01 What is Firdaws Academy?
Answer
Firdaws Academy is an online Islamic learning academy offering live instruction in Quran, Tajweed, Quran memorization, Arabic and Islamic Studies. The Academy combines qualified human teaching with a digital learning environment for children, adults and families around the world.
02 Who can study at Firdaws Academy?
Answer
Courses are available for children and adults, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Study plans are personalized according to age, current level, learning goals, available time and the type of course selected.
03 What can I learn at Firdaws Academy?
Answer
You can study the Foundation Course, Quran Recitation with Tajweed, Quran Memorization (Hifz), Arabic Language and Islamic Studies. Students may focus on one subject or build a broader learning plan depending on their goals.
04 How do I start studying?
Answer
Begin by reviewing the Study Plans & Fees, then complete the Free Trial enrollment form. After the trial, the Academy can confirm your tutor, schedule and suitable study plan before regular lessons begin.
05 Is there a free trial lesson?
Answer
Yes. New students can attend one complimentary 30-minute trial lesson before starting a paid study plan. The purpose is to experience the teaching style, meet the tutor and help the Academy understand the student’s level and goals.
06 Should I pay before the trial lesson?
Answer
No. The current study-plan guidance is to attend the free trial first and subscribe only after you decide to continue. You can review current plans on the fees page before the trial without making payment.
07 What device do I need for online classes?
Answer
A computer, tablet or smartphone with a stable internet connection, working audio and a suitable place for the lesson is generally enough. A larger screen is often more comfortable for reading, whiteboard work and younger students, but it is not required.
08 Are the classes live or pre-recorded?
Answer
Regular teaching is live and interactive with an assigned tutor. Digital tools, learning resources and optional lesson recordings may support the learning process, but they do not replace the live teacher.
09 Are classes one-to-one?
Answer
Personalized one-to-one tutoring is the standard learning format. This allows the tutor to adapt the pace, correction, revision and homework to the individual student.
10 Can siblings, or a parent and child, study together?
Answer
Yes. The current Study Plans & Fees page states that children may share one class, and a parent and child may also study together with no extra fee for that shared class. The Academy can advise whether a shared lesson is suitable for the learners’ levels and goals.

10 questions

Courses & Study Plans

Programs, levels, materials and study-plan questions.

11 What is the Foundation Course?
Answer
The Foundation Course is designed for learners who need the basics before progressing to fluent Quran reading. It may include Arabic letters, sounds, joining letters, reading practice and foundational skills through resources such as Noor Al-Bayan or similar beginner materials, depending on the tutor and student.
12 What is the Quran Recitation with Tajweed course?
Answer
This course focuses on accurate Quran reading, correct pronunciation, practical Tajweed and gradual correction of recitation errors. The tutor adjusts the level from foundational recitation to more advanced Tajweed application.
13 What is the Quran Memorization (Hifz) course?
Answer
The Hifz course helps students memorize the Quran through a structured plan that normally combines new memorization, regular revision and recitation correction. The pace depends on the learner’s age, consistency, available study time and previous memorization.
14 What does the Arabic Language course cover?
Answer
Arabic learning can be adapted to the student’s level and goals, including reading, vocabulary, conversation, comprehension, grammar and writing. Beginners can start from the alphabet and basic reading, while more advanced learners may work on deeper language skills.
15 What is included in Islamic Studies?
Answer
Islamic Studies can cover level-appropriate topics such as Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, Hadith, Tafsir, Islamic manners, worship and daily Islamic knowledge. The depth and material should match the student’s age and level rather than using the same curriculum for every learner.
16 Can I study Tajweed rules separately?
Answer
Yes. Tajweed can be taught as part of Quran recitation or as a more focused subject. Students who already read fluently may study detailed rules, articulation points, letter characteristics and practical application according to their level.
17 Do you teach complete beginners?
Answer
Yes. A student does not need previous Arabic or Quran-reading experience to begin. The tutor can assess the starting point and use an appropriate foundation path before moving to independent Quran reading.
18 Do you have advanced teachers for Ijazah or Qira’at-related study?
Answer
Firdaws Academy has tutors with different qualifications, and many tutor profiles list Ijazah, advanced Tajweed texts or Qira’at study. Because qualifications vary by teacher, review the Tutor Profiles and ask the Academy to match you with a teacher suited to your advanced goal.
19 Are learning materials provided?
Answer
Yes. Digital Quran, Tajweed, Arabic and Islamic Studies resources can be used according to the course. The tutor or Academy may provide the relevant books, links, files or learning resources needed for the student’s current level.
20 How long will it take to complete a course?
Answer
There is no single accurate duration for every student. Progress depends on starting level, class frequency, lesson length, practice between classes, memorization ability and the learning goal; the Academy therefore uses a personalized path rather than promising the same completion date to everyone.

10 questions

Tutors & Live Classes

Teachers, class experience and family learning.

21 Where are Firdaws Academy tutors from?
Answer
Many tutors are Egyptian and the Academy lists a large team of male and female Quran teachers. You can browse current biographies and qualifications on the Online Quran Tutors page.
22 What qualifications do the tutors have?
Answer
Tutor qualifications vary by profile and may include Al-Azhar study, Quran memorization, Ijazah, Tajweed certification, Qira’at study, Arabic or Islamic Studies degrees, and experience teaching non-Arabic speakers. The tutor page gives individual background information rather than making one identical claim about every teacher.
23 Can I request a male or female tutor?
Answer
Yes. Male and female tutor options are available. The Academy can match the student according to preference, availability, age, subject, language and learning level.
24 Can I change my teacher?
Answer
Yes. If the teaching style, schedule or learning match is not suitable, contact the Academy and explain the issue. The team can review the situation and, where appropriate, arrange another tutor.
25 Can I request a specific tutor for my trial?
Answer
You may request a preferred tutor, although final availability depends on the teacher’s schedule and the student’s requirements. Use the tutor profiles to identify teachers who fit your goals before contacting the Academy.
26 What happens during a typical live lesson?
Answer
The exact lesson depends on the course, but it may include live recitation, correction, reading practice, memorization review, Tajweed explanation, Arabic exercises, Islamic Studies discussion and homework or revision guidance. Interactive tools can include video/audio, screen sharing, text communication and digital learning resources.
27 Can a parent attend a child’s lesson?
Answer
Yes. Parent involvement is especially helpful for younger children or when a child is adjusting to online learning. As the child becomes more independent, the tutor and parent can decide how much direct supervision is useful.
28 How do you keep lessons suitable for children?
Answer
The tutor can adjust lesson length, pacing, repetition, activities and expectations according to age and attention span. Consistency, encouragement, short review tasks and clear goals are generally more effective for children than treating them like adult learners.
29 What happens if the teacher misses a class?
Answer
Any legitimate class time missed because of the teacher should be compensated or made up. If a teacher is absent or there is an unresolved issue, contact the Academy so the class record and replacement can be reviewed.
30 What should I do if the teacher is late?
Answer
If the teacher is unexpectedly late, use the Portal or the normal Academy communication channel to confirm that you are online and waiting. Repeated lateness should be reported to the Academy so it can be reviewed by administration or quality control.

10 questions

Scheduling & Attendance

Timings, attendance, changes and extra study hours.

31 Can I choose my class times?
Answer
Yes. Firdaws Academy offers flexible scheduling, subject to tutor availability. The goal is to find regular times that work for both the student and the assigned tutor.
32 Are weekend classes available?
Answer
Yes. The current Study Plans & Fees page states that weekday and weekend classes are available.
33 Can the Academy work with my time zone?
Answer
Yes. Firdaws Academy serves international students, so scheduling can be arranged around different time zones. Always confirm the displayed lesson time in your Portal and communicate any permanent time-zone or daylight-saving change.
34 Can I increase or reduce my monthly study hours?
Answer
Yes. Contact the Academy when you want to change the study plan so scheduling and billing can be updated correctly. It is best to request the change before the next study cycle is created.
35 Can I add extra study hours?
Answer
Yes. Additional hours can be added to the current study plan when scheduling allows. The current regular study-hour rate published by the Academy is $8.50 USD.
36 What happens if I join a lesson late?
Answer
The student is expected to attend on time. A late arrival does not normally extend the scheduled end time, so students should join promptly and notify the tutor or Academy when a genuine emergency causes a delay.
37 What happens if I miss a class without enough notice?
Answer
If the required cancellation notice is not provided, the lesson will normally not be replaced. Genuine emergencies may be reviewed separately, but replacement should not be assumed unless the Academy confirms it.
38 How early should I tell the Academy if I know I will be absent?
Answer
For an individual lesson, give the required notice as early as possible and no later than the current cancellation rule. For a planned holiday or extended break, inform both the teacher and Academy administration in advance so the schedule can be managed correctly.
39 What should I do if I will be away for more than a few days?
Answer
Tell the Academy and your tutor in advance rather than cancelling lessons one by one at the last minute. Administration can review the dates, study plan and any eligible changes or makeup arrangements.
40 Where can I see my upcoming classes?
Answer
Upcoming lessons and schedule information are available through the Firdaws Academy Portal, and the My Firdaws app also provides schedule and lesson information.
05

10 questions

Rescheduling & Makeup

How cancellations, replacements and makeup lessons work.

41 How much notice is required to cancel or rearrange a class?
Answer
The current policy requires at least 4 hours’ notice before the class begins for a normal cancellation or rearrangement request. Requests made later than that are generally not eligible for replacement except where a genuine emergency is accepted.
42 How many rearranged classes are allowed?
Answer
The current Terms & Conditions allow a maximum of three rearranged classes per month, regardless of the student’s study plan.
43 What class-management options can appear in the Portal?
Answer
Depending on the lesson and account, the Portal may provide options such as Reschedule Class, Auto Makeup Class and No Reschedule. Choose the option that matches what you actually want before submitting the request.
44 What does “Reschedule Class” mean?
Answer
It means moving the affected lesson to another suitable date and time rather than losing the lesson. The replacement time still needs to work for the student and teacher.
45 What does “Auto Makeup Class” mean?
Answer
It means cancelling the current lesson while keeping an eligible replacement lesson to be completed later in the study cycle. The makeup remains part of the current cycle until it is completed and properly recorded.
46 What does “No Reschedule” mean?
Answer
It means the lesson is cancelled without requesting a replacement class. Use this option only when you do not need a makeup lesson for that cancellation.
47 What if I have a genuine emergency less than four hours before class?
Answer
Contact the Academy or teacher as soon as possible and explain the emergency. Exceptions may be considered for genuine situations such as sudden illness or a serious family emergency, but the case must be reviewed rather than automatically treated as a makeup.
48 Are classes missed by the teacher replaced?
Answer
Yes. Legitimate time missed because of the teacher should be compensated or made up. The class record should be updated so the replacement is completed before the cycle is considered fully finished where applicable.
49 Are makeup classes completed before the next invoice?
Answer
Yes. Under the new billing process, any eligible outstanding makeup or replacement class is completed first. Only after the current study cycle is fully completed and properly actioned in the Portal is the next invoice issued or the next automatic charge processed.
50 What if a makeup class is still pending when the other lessons are finished?
Answer
The cycle is not treated as fully complete for billing purposes while an eligible makeup remains outstanding. Complete and record that makeup first; the next billing step follows after the cycle is complete.

10 questions

Student Portal

Your central place for schedules, reports, classes and billing.

51 What is the Firdaws Academy Portal?
Answer
The Portal is the Academy’s central online account system for students, parents, teachers and administration. Student access includes schedules, upcoming lessons, family profiles, progress information, class history, reports, invoices and account-related information.
53 Do students, teachers and admins use the same portal system?
Answer
The Academy uses one central portal platform with role-specific access. Students, teachers and authorized administrators see the tools relevant to their account type and permissions.
54 What can I see on the student dashboard?
Answer
The dashboard can show family members, assigned teachers, study-hour information, upcoming lessons and other account information. Available widgets may vary by account and current portal version.
55 Can I manage more than one family member?
Answer
Yes. A family account can display multiple students where they are linked to the same account, making it easier for parents to follow schedules, teachers, lesson history and progress for each learner.
56 Can I join or access my lesson from the Portal?
Answer
The Portal is designed to show upcoming classes and provide access to relevant lesson details. Follow the button or instructions displayed for that lesson, since the exact joining flow can depend on the class setup and current platform configuration.
57 Can I see previous classes in the Portal?
Answer
Yes. Class Summary and Class History features can be used to review completed lessons, attendance information and lesson-by-lesson records for the student.
58 Can I see progress reports in the Portal?
Answer
Yes. Teachers record lesson information and the Portal is used to make progress and lesson reports easier for students and parents to follow over time.
59 Can I see invoices and payment status in the Portal?
Answer
Yes. The Billing area shows issued invoices, payment information and payment status. It is also the key place to follow the account’s billing process.
60 What should I do if I cannot log in?
Answer
First verify the username, password and account type, then use the Portal’s password-recovery option if available. If access is still not working, contact [email protected] or the Academy through an official support channel.

15 questions

Payments & Invoices

Manual and automatic billing explained clearly.

61 What payment methods does the new billing system support?
Answer
For ongoing study, the Portal supports two billing modes: Manual Payment and Automatic Payment. The difference is how the money is collected; the billing timing rule is the same for both.
62 What is Manual Payment?
Answer
With Manual Payment, the current study cycle is completed first. After the Portal issues the next invoice, the student or parent opens it and completes payment manually using the payment options available on that invoice.
63 What is Automatic Payment?
Answer
With Automatic Payment, the student authorizes a card or payment method for automatic collection. Once the current study cycle is fully completed, including any required makeup classes, the next amount can be deducted automatically without the parent manually paying that invoice.
64 When is the next invoice issued?
Answer
The next invoice is issued only after the current study cycle is complete. Completion means the lessons in that cycle have been completed and the required class actions have been properly recorded in the Portal.
65 When does an automatic deduction happen?
Answer
Automatic deduction follows the same timing rule as manual invoicing: the current cycle must first be fully completed and properly actioned. If an eligible makeup is still outstanding, that makeup is completed before the automatic charge is processed.
66 Is an invoice automatically issued just because a new calendar month starts?
Answer
No. Under the new billing rule, billing is tied to completion of the current study cycle, not simply to the first day of a new calendar month.
67 Can the next invoice be issued while lessons from the current cycle are still incomplete?
Answer
No. The next invoice should not be issued while lessons belonging to the current cycle still need to be completed or properly actioned in the Portal.
68 What happens to billing if I still have an eligible makeup class?
Answer
The makeup class is completed first. After that lesson and the rest of the current cycle are completed and recorded, the Portal can issue the next manual invoice or process the next automatic payment.
69 What does “properly actioned in the Portal” mean for billing?
Answer
It means the lesson record has been given the appropriate status or action in the Academy system so the cycle accurately reflects what happened. Billing should follow the completed lesson records rather than being triggered before outstanding class actions are resolved.
70 How do I pay a manual invoice?
Answer
When an invoice has been issued, open the Billing or invoice area and use the payment option shown for that invoice. The available payment methods are displayed at the point of payment and may depend on the account or payment gateway.
71 Do I need to do anything each cycle if Automatic Payment is enabled?
Answer
Normally, you do not manually pay the next invoice. After the current cycle is fully completed, the authorized card or payment method is charged according to the automatic-payment setup.
72 Can my card be charged before the current lessons and makeups are completed?
Answer
The intended billing rule is no. Completion of the current cycle comes first; only then should the next automatic deduction be processed.
73 How does the first payment work after the trial?
Answer
After a successful trial, students who decide to continue complete the initial subscription before regular lessons begin. The “finish the current cycle first” rule applies to the following ongoing billing cycles.
74 Where can I check whether an invoice is paid?
Answer
Open the Billing area in the Student Portal. It displays invoice and payment-status information for the account.
75 What happens if an issued invoice remains unpaid?
Answer
Once an invoice has legitimately been issued, it should be settled according to the selected payment method. Under the current policy, classes may be suspended if an issued invoice remains unpaid for a full month.

Refunds & Account Changes

Stopping, plan changes, refunds and scholarship information.

76 Can I get a refund for unused classes?
Answer
Yes. The current refund policy provides a refund for 100% of eligible unused classes when a student decides to stop studying during the month, subject to the Academy’s policy and class records.
77 How much notice should I give before stopping classes?
Answer
The current Terms & Conditions ask students to notify the Academy at least two days before the intended stopping date.
78 How do I leave Firdaws Academy?
Answer
Notify the administration through an official support channel, preferably at least two days before the intended leaving date. You can email [email protected]; sharing the reason for leaving also helps the Academy improve its service.
79 Can I change my study plan later?
Answer
Yes. Contact the Academy if you want to increase or reduce classes, lesson length or monthly hours. Request the change before the next study cycle is created so the timetable and billing can be updated correctly.
80 Can I temporarily pause my classes?
Answer
A temporary break should be arranged with the Academy rather than assumed automatically. Tell administration and the tutor in advance so they can review the schedule, any current lessons and the billing status.
81 Am I locked into a long-term contract?
Answer
Firdaws Academy uses flexible ongoing study plans rather than requiring the student to remain for a fixed long-term course commitment. When leaving, follow the current notice and refund policy so unused eligible classes and account status can be handled correctly.
82 Does Firdaws Academy offer a scholarship program?
Answer
Yes. Firdaws Academy currently has an International Islamic Scholarship Program. Eligibility, submission options, dates and awards can change, so applicants should always use the scholarship page for the current requirements.

5 questions

Parents, Progress & Materials

Family profiles, reports, learning resources and progress.

91 How can parents follow a child’s progress?
Answer
Parents can use family profiles, Class Summary, Class History and progress information in the Portal. This gives a clearer view of completed lessons, attendance, reports and the learning journey over time.
92 Does the teacher write a report after each class?
Answer
Teachers are required to record lesson times and provide a brief lesson summary after classes. These records help parents and students understand what was covered and what needs revision or continued work.
93 Can I review lesson history for each child separately?
Answer
Yes. Where multiple students are linked to a family account, parents can select the relevant student and review that learner’s class history and progress information.
94 Do I need a printed Quran or printed books?
Answer
Not necessarily. Digital Quran and course materials can be used during online learning, although students are free to use a physical Quran or printed book if they find it more comfortable.
95 How can I help my child progress faster?
Answer
Consistency is usually more valuable than occasional long study sessions. Help the child attend on time, complete short revision tasks, practice between lessons, keep a stable schedule and communicate with the tutor when you notice difficulty or loss of motivation.
